Fortunately, the symptoms of the corona infection that we have incurred seem not too bad.
That is nice, of course, but we also realize that maybe we could have gone to Thailand after all. Annoying, very annoying.

We are searching on airline sites and booking sites to see if we can still get seats. Eva Air and KLM, which both fly directly to Bangkok, are out of the question, much too expensive and too full.
Thai Airways, Qatar and Emirates also fall off because the flights are much too expensive.
On Cheaptickets we find a cheap flight with Quatar, less than €1000. But 14 hours of waiting at an airport in Qatar. We don't like that.

Pia comes up with the idea to go away in Europe for a few weeks, we don't want to be in the cold all winter, we want warmth. Egypt may also be an option.
Tom starts looking, and it turns out that Southern Europe is not a good place to look for warmth in winter, the average temperatures are around 15º. Egypt might be an option, but all hotels are all inclusive and even last minute deals are all about March 2023 or later.

We decide to go to the TUI travel agency in Apeldoorn and find out what is possible and what it will cost.
